In observance of Black History Month, the Black Law Students Association of GWU Law cordially invites you to attend our panel discussion: “Blacktivism: Past, Present & Future.” Join us in a conversation as we explore concepts of activism, resistance and past social justice movements in order to look forward to the future and evaluate how to be ‘activists’ within our own capacities. Distinguished speakers include: Feminista Jones, José Morales and April Reign.

BLACK SOLIDARITY CONFERENCE – Yale

The Black Solidarity Conference at Yale is a completely student-run annual conference held in February. BSC is the largest undergraduate conference held at Yale University and it continues to grow each year! BSC invites over 700 undergraduates of of various races, religions, ethnicities, and communities to discuss issues pertaining to the African Diaspora. Through discussions, panels, networking, and social gatherings, students from across the country analyze issues affecting the Black/Afro-Diasporic community and explore solutions that can be implemented on their own college campuses.
A New Dawn, A New Day: Promoting and Protecting Blackness in the Digital Age
This year’s theme will lead participants on a creative exploration of multidimensional Blackness in the digital age. By engaging with the digital platforms we often frequent (such as social media, journalism, apps, and hashtags) we will dissect technology’s role in transforming narratives, raising awareness, and providing new levels of agency and accountability to Black people across the diaspora.
