All Hail The Queens

August 11, 2023 officially marked the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop culture. Celebrations worldwide have honored the pioneers, the artists, and members of the broader community. While many events have included a few women, some concerts, panels, and parties didn’t bother to include or highlight women at all. Unfortunately, women have often been erased from or overlooked in retelling the lore and history of Hip-Hop, despite their vast and integral contributions not only to its beginning but also its sustainability. This workshop will take you on a journey through time, highlighting some of the most important women in Hip-Hop history. You’ll learn about people whose names you may have never heard before and more about some of your favs.

Come eager to learn and have fun with FJ, whose passions for Hip-Hop culture and women’s history collide in this interactive workshop.
